DEAR ANNA.......................

With so many women at the forefront of politics, us, the voter have come to judge them, not for what they stand for, but more, for what they stand 'in'................clothes that is.

With the lovely Julia Gillard graduating from the 'Hillary Clinton School of Deportment & Style', and our very own Anna Bligh following suit, I thought it was time that someone gave our faithful Premier some advice, like I did Britney Spears several months ago.

After being appointed Deputy Premier in 2005, her success as Minister and Treasurer of Infrastructure gained her alot respect, along with her other achivements. But despite creating the highest ever Workforce Participation and doubling the Queensland economic growth rate, which equalled the rest of Australia combined, there is but one little flaw in La Premier's resume, and it's not her Cabinet.

It's her wardrobe!!

Now washing your hair, strategically putting on make-up and comfortable pumps does not a Premier make! Ok, what someone wears should'nt label them a failure, but honestly, in a high-profile job like Ms Bligh's, appearance along with intelligence, is very important. People will judge no matter what. My advice is, dress like a woman. Unflattering coloured suits and sensible shoes went out with the Bejelke-Petersen Government, it's 2008 and people require some entertainment with their politics. We spent too many years watching Hawke, Keating and Howard address the nation looking like an extra from 'Dimboola', and although they're men, the women in politics we face everyday need to step up to the mark, and body shape is no excuse!!! You're not teaching grade school ladies. And surely you can afford Armani, even if it's Emporio.

Thanks to Net-A-Porter, I have stolen some looks from their very extensive portfolio to which I hope Premier Bligh will find helpful. I understand like alot of her electorate, Ms Bligh is a REAL woman, and as you see, these clothes are featured on a mannequin slightly less voluptuous, so try to imagine similar clothes/looks in her size........we can't all have figures like the exquisite Governor.

Finally, I don't want you to think I'm being negative about Premier Bligh, I adore her and I consider her a superpower as a Premier of State goes, I just think it would be nice if she addressed council looking like Leader rather then a Librarian.

So agreed or not, I just want to see her looking as divine as she possibly can, because she deserves it....and as the Premier loves to jog, Easton Pearson is a 30 minute round trip from work!!!!
On your mark, get set, go!

I can see what you mean with the clothes, yes, the dummy is thin, but I could see the Premier wearing these outfits in her size...and she is an attractive woman!!!

good choices, if you take into consideration her size, then she could really look ok in these outfits.

not to sure if they'd suit her, but it's a good concept. Kaz.

interesting posting, and very true. women in politics need to step up to the mark when it comes to their personal dressing. I know it's not the most important thing in their job, but it certainly would help us voters looking at them. good article.

I think if she just tidied her hair up and put on some flattering make-up, that would help her ensemble. Her hair is a catasrophe!! Cheryl.
