DEAD GIVEAWAY!

Hey Everyone,
Just a quick note to clear something up. In recent days I have a had a total loser shit on MY opinion.
This Blog is Free and available to everyone, and it's mine. I can say anything I want, because after all that's what opinions are all about. I don't delete people's comments because they're negative, in fact, I enjoy the negative, it cracks me up.
Now, I am Brisbane born and bred (New Farm, to be exact). I adore this city, and despite living in other cities around the world, Brisbane will always be Home. I promote Brisbane wherever I go, and will continue to do this.
I have been accused of 'Brisbane Bashing' because I hang crap on certain things going on here, and, because alot of the content on here is not TOTALLY Brisbane related.
I have never labelled myself stylish, or thin, or attractive, and I have certainly never conceeded that I know EVERYTHING, but some things I do know about.
This Blog has had over a Million hits since October 2007, which is great. It's an innocent and direct viewpoint that most people enjoy and some..........don't!
I am a working professional. I know alot of people, have alot of friends and my contacts continue to grow. I don't live at home with my Parents. I don't borrow (but claim to own) their luxury car, I don't work alongside my Parents in a mediocre business nowhere near cutting edge, I am most definetly NOT a failed business owner making excuses for this dead-end job and I do not bad mouth the successful.
I get around, travel overseas (Buenos Aires and Honolulu, last week alone), own nice things, get to go to nice places and know alot of people who own them, but hey, I'm just lucky!
I love Brisbane. Ten years ago that would've been an embarrassing confession. I'm owned by this city and I own this city. Simple, but True.
So send your comments in thick and fast. Positive and Negative, and remember, although Brisbane is evolving and getting better by the minute, I will continue to speak my mind on the things that bring it down.
Control. Alt. Delete!
PS. I found one good thing about CLOUDLAND..........The Uniforms!

SHOPPING LIST.

During these tough times, it's always comforting to know that there's something (to pull us out of the glums) for everyone.
With $900 currently being deposited into most bank accounts, here are some highly recommended items for purchase. Some are an equal $900, some are a little more, and some, are slightly less :)
So head for the nearest ATM, withdraw your "Government Gift" and indulge, because although the world's finances are somewhat drab, there's always room for something fab!
1. SOUTHERN OCEAN LODGE on Kangaroo Island. With access to some incredible landscapes, an open fire and open bar, what more could you ask for? www.southernoceanlodge.com.au
2. ALEXANDER WANG. Chinese American designer attended Parsons School of Design and now dresses the Rich and Famous. In 2008 he received top honours from the Vogue/CFDA Fund. Fine his clothes at Opening Ceremony in New York. www.alexanderwang.com
3. GILES & BROTHER. Inspired by everything from classic estate jewellery to textiles from Africa and Asia, Giles & Brother Jewellery is intricate and original.
4. HERMES iPHONE HOLDER. Enough said!
5. FRESH CANNABIS SANTAL. Sexy, Feminine and Expensive.
6. MULBERRY ROXANNE BAG. One of Mulberry's most coveted, this handsome bag with it's belt buckle magnetic closures is coated canvas on the outside and lined with grosgrain inside.
It comes in 6 Colours including Purple! www.mulberry.com

CLOUDY WITH ALOT OF SMOG!
The old 'Cloudland'.The new 'Cloudland'.
I'll make this brief. The new CLOUDLAND Complex in Brisbane, is, and NEVER was going to be a counterpart to THE IVY in Sydney.
Besides the (Tit Soup) Pool, The Ivy has been created and conceived on the highest of levels. Cloudland however, has not.
Situated in the 'Bermuda Triangle of Ugliness', Cloudland is the epitome of tackiness. Where ZURI and FAMILY take the awards for gawdiness and downright bad taste respectively, CLOUDLAND takes the stale cake for the over-the-top theatrics that fall flat. The Dining area would succeed in putting an obese patron off their Lamb Ragout, which tries very hard to imitate the MAD COW from The Ivy, but falls way short. The furniture and fixtures are plain godawful.
Cloudland confirms that Brisbane is still leaps and bounds BEHIND it's southern sisters when it comes to quality Food and Beverage venue's, some highly talented and respected architects and interior designers have been involved in this project, but it's obvious the owners had a very clear (yet acidtrip-esque) vision of what they wanted.
We've waited 3 years for CLOUDLAND and as far as I am concerned it's a major disappointment. I thought the days of entering a club through an entrance the size of a B & D Roller Door finished with the demise of Transformers back in the 90's! The retractable roof and waterfall window scream P & O Cruises circa 1984. The living garden in the Qantas First Class Lounge in Sydney makes the flora in this catastrophe look like 'The Garden of Evil', complete with killer mosquito's!
I'm sure it will have it's fans, drunk SJP wannabe's wearing Witchery and Aldo pissed as homeless women trying to score a football playing boyfriend, or the Faux-Beckham's with their 6 inch Collars and deconstructed Industrie jeans trying to score a root.
Lizzie Loel will love, love, love the food, and will label it 'the Versace' of cuisine, the Tania Zaetta's of the world will visit, the music will pump, and the patrons will vomit in the orchids. I however will see none of this, most probably because I'll be at the Buffalo Club drinking Gin and wondering when the next cavalcade of crap is erected!
Justine Hemmes, WE NEED YOU!!!
The Darlings of CLOUDLAND past must be jitterbugging in the graves!!
